It depends how much you want to simulate the real thing, in my opinion a game can never simulate what it's like to drive the real thing, so I don't bother chasing that ideal. So the only reason for me to buy a wheel is to get the extra control and accuracy it offers.
Picked up Planetary Annihilation on early access now that it's dropped to a reasonable £30. The game is amazing, I'm just terrible at it and there's no difficulty options for the AI, so I'm usually just on survival turtle mode until I get a massive Nuke dropped on me.
But my recommended games so far would be...
Tropico 4 (one of my favourite city building games)
Sleeping Dogs (super fun game, need a decent PC to run it well)
Terraria (1.2 update is awesome, it's like a whole new game, so much more playable and fun than it was before)
Skyrim (standard edition, not legendary, it has great mods which are better than the DLC content)
...and remember, don't buy it unless it is at least 75% off because if it doesn't get that discount in this sale, it probably will in the next one, or it might be in a flash sale at some point.
My LFS stats using a PS2 wired controller, which you couldn't adjust sensitivity on. Which meant I had 1cm of movement either side of a stick to go full lock on the steering.
I would say that I took LFS more seriously than a lot of people, but I never felt the need to buy a wheel, and that was with a game that barely supports any other control method. At least this game has better options which means I can actually use the full movement of the analogue sticks on my controller.
It would be nice if they changed the auto-aim to lock on to the car rather than the people inside, at least then it would even things up a bit. Also quite stupid that Passive Mode is disabled once you get into a car.
Maldonado is not good enough, simple as that. The only reason he is in F1 is because Williams got paid a lot of money to take him. I will be happy to see the back of the corrupt bastard.
I've been playing the latest demo and I'm really enjoying it, and they've added better customisation options for game pads, which means I can drive smoothly without getting hand cramps after 20 minutes, so I will probably be playing this quite a lot.
EDIT: Referenced a time someone posted on here to see if my pad was set up correctly, thought they said they did a 1:24 so I used that as my target, got a 1:25 as my best so far, turned out they had said 1:29 anyway, so hopefully my gamepad can be competitive, at least in the slower cars anyway.
I'm going to do that one, since I can't play any of the other missions because I get a pathetic payout on them now. I did the Titan job solo on hard and only got $5000 from it, just because I've played it before.
It doesn't count for races, only missions. I won enough races to unlock all the car parts, then stopped doing them. I'm waiting for all the 12 year olds to go back to Call of Duty before playing competitive modes, played my first deathmatch yesterday, my team mates quit while we were winning, then I got dicked on by 3 people and lost, it took 10 minutes and I only got $1300.
I've run out of ways to make money. I'm level 56 and I've done all of the missions at least once, which means the payouts are really bad now. I did the Titan job solo on hard and got $5000. They've also stopped Armoured trucks from spawning as much as they used to, now I'm lucky to see one an hour. The worst change they made was reducing job payouts if you've already completed them, they should have saved that change for when they had more content to play.
My mate took this picture, his Sultan is fully tuned because he's a glitching SOB, mine has Race brakes and Engine Stage 4. I spent $25,000 for the chrome paint, which I think looks good mixed with matte black, it looks better during the day, definitely not subtle though.
They spawn on the roads, I've seen loads of them, just need to play a bit more and get lucky I guess. BTW I saw some people slagging off the Sultan, but it's really fast and handles nicely, it's better than the Tailgater.
EDIT: Also, screw the glitching/boosting ****s, I've got to Level 54 doing races and missions, and now I get armoured trucks spawning. They can have anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 in the back, and they spawn instantly when you have more than one Level 50+ player in your game, one after the other.
If you guys want to level up, get money, and unlock car parts. Just get a friend, do the Prison race, 1 lap, taking turns to win. For winning you get about $3300 and 1500rp. You get more for winning ten 1 lap races, than you do for winning one 10 lap race. Also don't use bombs in self defense, just be smart about it, lead them to an area where you can ambush them, get out of your car and pick them off, then have an escape plan. I like to mark the best escape areas as points of interest, usually the broken walls on highway intersections are enough to throw off anyone chasing you.
The Tailgater spawns in a few locations, I keep finding them in the Golf Course parking lot, in a space opposite the main door. You can also find one at the Airport taxi rank/passenger drop off point. There's another place near some tennis courts, but I've never found one there.
